Biography

Alba Gines Molina, Ph.D. joined the Kim lab in 2014 as a postdoctoral scholar. She currently focuses on characterization and functional validation of novel potential biomarkers in lung cancer.

She received her PhD training under the direction of Dr. Albert Abad and Dr. Eva Martinez-Balibrea, and obtained a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2012. By using both candidate gene and high throughput approaches (proteomics- and transcriptomics-profiling), her thesis project focused on deciphering the role of Isoform M2 of Pyruvate Kinase in oxaliplatin response and resistance in advanced colorectal cancer. During her Ph.D. training, she also participated in several projects related to the study of relevant genetic polymorphisms for the treatment selection in colorectal cancer patients.

She also has a B.S. in biological sciences with specialization in biomedicine from University of Barcelona.
